ABOUT RADIANT

Colour Guard

Q: Is Radiant safe to use on my coloured garments?
A: Radiant Brilliant Whites Sharper Colours, No Sort and Sensitive are specifically designed for use on coloured clothes. Always follow garment manufacturer's instructions.
Q: How can I avoid damaging my clothing fibres during the washing process?
A: You can avoiding damaging the fibres of your garments by following the washing instructions stated on the clothing label. As a general rule, selecting a washing cycle that runs at a low temperature and uses a short wash program reduces the impact on your garments.
Q: Can washing-related damage to clothes be fixed?
A: Unfortunately it cannot. Where colour has faded, it cannot be recovered. Similarly, where clothing has been shrunk, the original shape has been lost. This is why it is important to always read the care labels and choose a quality detergent.
Q: Do the products restore my colour?
A: The Radiant Colour Guard products are designed to protect against colour transfer, greying and colour fade. They do not restore the colour of damaged or old fabrics and clothing.
Q: Which of your products do not have Optical Brightener?
A: The Radiant No Sort variant does not contain optical brightener. Radiant Brilliant Whites Sharper Colours does contain optical brightener.

A: The Radiant Colour Guard system is effective in keeping darks and black clothing newer for longer. Follow the garment manufacturer's instructions.

Q: Can I put my darks whites & colours in the wash together?
A: Yes with Radiant No Sort. No Sort makes it safe* to mix your whites, colours and darks in the same wash. *For best results: wash in cold water, don't overload your machine, always add the correct amount of detergent, follow garment manufacturer's instructions, and be careful with new highly-coloured fabrics.

Suitable For Top & Front Loaders

Q: Can I use Radiant in either a Front or Top loader?
A: Yes. Radiant now comes in a combined top and front loader format - which is designed to be used in both top and front loading machines thanks to our anti-foaming technonlogy.
Q: Do I need to add more detergent if I don't see suds in my wash water?
A: The amount of suds varies based on other things like water temperature and how big or dirty your load is. Don't be alarmed if you don't see suds. Radiant always works hard to give you a deep clean.

High Efficiency (HE)

Q: What does the HE stand for, and how do I use it in my machine?
A: HE stands for High Efficiency. These detergents have been specially formulated for use in HE washing machines. The HE formula is low-sudsing and quick dispersing for use in low water volume machines.
HE detergents hold soil in suspension so it is not re-deposited onto clean clothes. Using a traditional laundry detergent in a high-efficiency washer (front loader) will produce too many suds that will interfere with the tumbling action that HE washers use to clean clothes.
You can use HE detergent in a traditional washer with no problems.
Q: Is Radiant HE greywater safe?
A: Grey water from washing with Radiant is safe to use on your garden. However, it is recommended that only the final rinse water is used on gardens. Remember, grey water should only be used as much as the soil can absorb. Refer to your local council or environmental authority for further grey water advice.
Q: Why is there specific detergent for my Front Loader or High Efficiency machine?
A: Front Loader/HE machines need low sudsing detergents, Radiant Front Loader/High Efficiency detergents have been created specifically for those machines. If top loader detergent is used it can create too many suds . The suds might not rinse completely from your clothes or if you use less detergent to lower the suds level, your clothes may not come out as clean as they should. All radiant products are suitable for use in Front Loader machines and also Top Loader machines.

Delicates

Q: Should I use a different detergent for delicates (such as wool and silk garments) with special finishes or care instructions?
A: Always read and follow the garment's care label instructions very carefully, and if in doubt, try and contact the manufacturer for their advice. For delicate items made from fibres such as wool and silk, it is recommended that you use a specialty non-enzyme detergent and hand wash.

Q: Where can I buy Radiant laundry detergents?
A: Radiant is available in all major supermarkets. If your local supermarket doesn't range it, ask the store manager to order it in for you.

A: Radiant products can be safely disposed down the drain into properly designed and maintained septic tank systems.
Radiant does not contain bleach or any anti-bacterial agents to affect the septic tank system.
Q: Is the grey water safe to use in gardens?
A: Grey water from washing with Radiant is safe to use on your garden. However, it is recommended that only the final rinse water is used on gardens. Remember, grey water should only be used as much as the soil can absorb. Refer to your local council or environmental authority for further grey water advice.

Q: Are any animal-derived products used in Radiant?
A: No, we do not use any animal-derived ingredients in our Radiant laundry products.

Water Temperature

Q: Which water temperature should I set my machine to when I use Radiant?
A: Always refer to the washing instructions of your garments when determining what temperature to select for your wash. Radiant detergent is tested and proven to work effectively in both cold (20°C) and warm water (40°C). Hot water washing is not recommended as it may damage your clothes.

Dosage

Q: What is a standard scoop or cap size?
A: Radiant Powder = 45g
Radiant Liquid = 55ml
Q: What is the correct dosage amount that I should use?
A: In order to achieve the best wash result, it's important to use the right amount of detergent. If you use too little detergent, your clothes won't be cleaned properly. If you use too much detergent, it is not only wasteful, but the water can also foam over and the clothes won't get rinsed properly.
A good rule of thumb is to follow the directions on the packaging.
Q: Is one scoop per wash really enough?
A: Unbelievable as it may seem, yes! The scoop dosages have been optimised through the product development and testing process. One scoop contains all the cleaning ingredients you need for a normal load. If you have a large load, we recommend you add an extra half a scoop.
Q: My pack doesn't have a scoop in it?
A: We're sorry to hear you didn't receive a scoop. Occasionally this sort of thing happens. So you can keep using your Radiant powder use a 45g dose for a standard wash.

Powder Not Dissolving

Q: What are some of the reasons that my powder detergent won't dissolve?
A:For best results in getting detergent to dissolve and to avoid any granular residue, follow these directions:
  • Always follow the dosage instructions on the pack and add the detergent to the water before the laundry
  • Choose the appropriate size wash setting to have enough water for the load and to keep granules from getting trapped in the fabrics
  • Make sure the cycle's agitation is correct for the types of soils and fabrics in a wash load
  • Store your detergent in a cool, dry area to prevent moisture from causing lumps
  • Add extra detergent to large or heavily soiled wash loads to help keep soils suspended in the water and off your clothes
  • For hard water areas, add extra detergent (if necessary) to counter the minerals in the water
To correct a wash load that leaves granules or residue on your clothes at the end of the cycle, try this easy solution.
Rewash the load in warm water with the recommended amount of detergent. Adjust the size of the load or water fill to ensure proper wash load rotation. Match the washer cycle with the correct wash load.
If powder residue is a recurring problem you can also try a liquid detergent.
